Mark Mullins began his teaching career with Brevard
Public Schools at Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School in 1994 as a
mathematics teacher. During his teaching tenure, he coached Varsity
Soccer, served as Math department head, sponsored several clubs such
as Junior Class and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Upon
leaving the classroom, he served the district as Director of Brevard
Prevention Plus – a 5.5 million dollar grant that provided extensive
community social services for many school across the district. He
later served as an Assistant Principal at Southwest Middle School
and Palm Bay High before becoming Principal of Clearlake Middle
School in 2005. As principal, he has lead the school to improved
student achievement, maintaining an “A” grade from the Florida
Department of Education and the attainment of an authorized
International Baccalaureate Program. On June 16, 2010, Mr. Mullins
was appointed as the South Area Superintendent.
Mr. Mullins received his bachelor’s degree from Florida State
University in Mathematics Education (1993) and as a member of the
Golden Key National Honor Society. His master’s degree is from
University of Central Florida (UCF) in Educational Leadership. He is
currently pursuing his doctorate also in Educational Leadership from
UCF.
Mr. Mullins has held membership in professional
organizations that include: Brevard Association of School
Administrators, Phi Delta Kappa and the Association for Supervision
and Curriculum Development.
