Community Forum Schedule

Proposed School Closure Plan


VIERA, FLA.- As we have expressed recently to our community, Brevard Public Schools is facing critical budgetary shortages for capital projects necessary to maintain its $1.8 billion in facilities, aging buses, and required technology needs. As part of the budget reduction planning process, the Superintendent has recommended to the Board of Education the closure of Sea Park Elementary, South Lake Elementary, Gardendale Elementary and Clearlake Middle for the 2013-2014 school-year. To help explain the process utilized to make the recommendation, community forums have been scheduled. At these meetings, an overview will be provided and attendees will break into small groups to review proposed attendance boundary changes and provide feedback to refine the final recommendation.
